Novice Championship.
Kris turned pro in 1997 and was a front-runner in Western
Canada alongside Darcy Lange.
In 1998 Kris entered the first freestyle competition in History.
The ESPN World FreeStyle Championship was held in Las Vegas,
Nevada and Kris finished in 8th place. He was the youngest
rider next to Travis Pastrana.
Kris was proclaimed the first Canadian Professional MX Freestyler
and has been the only freestyler to compete in the X-Games
and Gravity Games. In the first X-Games in 1999, Kris finished
7th. In the following year Kris was slated to do well but
mechanical problems with bike at the time did not allow him
to finish the competition. He still managed to end up ranked
12th.
Gravity Games 2000, Kris again showed a talent for new competition
winning bronze with freestyle partner Justin Homans in the
doubles competition.
Kris is also known for being the only Canadian Freestyler
depicted in a video game. If you are playing Championship
