Saturday March 15th, 3251834

Going into the 2007 CMRC Women’s National, five time Walton title winner in the Women’s Class, Heidi Cooke was eagerly awaited by racing fans everywhere.  Bound and determined to claim top spot, the Freedom Cycle Kawasaki rider was crowned the 2007 Pro Women’s National Champion in the last round of the series at the Sand del Lee track yesterday.

The Suzuki sponsored 2007 Pro Women’s Nationals expanded to a five round series with steep competition amongst the increased number of riders over last year’s series.  From a strong family line of racers, KX pilot Cooke rose to the challenge of competing with talents like 2006 Champion Jolene Van Vugt and MX star Sarah Whitmore.  In a heated battle for the title, Cooke entered the last round the points leader with a huge point advantage on second place.

Cooke was prepared for battle and cemented her championship victory on the strength of  2-1 motos and the overall event win.
