2011 Monster Energy MX National Series Schedule Announced!

The Wastelands in Nanaimo, British Columbia returns to CMRC’s nine round, coast to coast national motocross series. The Vancouver Island MX Association, which includes clubs from Victoria, Nanaimo, Pt. Alberni and Campbell River, will spearhead the organization and logistics surrounding the national to ensure the event and track will meet national calibre standards. “We are very pleased to return to the Island after a two year layoff, as The Wastelands were a part of the series for thirteen years. Having the VIMX behind the event makes me very confident the event will be executed in the most professional manner as it was in the late ‘90s”, stated CMRC President Mark Stallybrass. “We are currently trying to make arrangements to make the transportation from the Mainland to the Island much more affordable, which will make the event much more attractive to participants, teams and enthusiasts”.

A change has been made to the series schedule; there will be a weekend off between Sand Del Lee and the final round in Walton. The final round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals in Walton, Ontario has traditionally been held on the third Sunday of August, and to keep consistent with the dates of the remaining eastern Canadian rounds of the series, no choice was left but to make this adjustment with the schedule.

2011 CMRC Women’s National Championships

The Women’s Nationals will continue to have an East/West format with three rounds in the west and three in the east. Separate Eastern and Western Canadian Women’s National Championship titles will be awarded. The cost savings with this format proved to work best for the participants as the number of entries increased dramatically in 2010. Each round of the series will be included with the Pro Nationals on each respective Sunday.
